Legal Cost Breakdown
LBA
LBA and Pre-legal report: £30.00
All accounts that you are considering taking legal will receive a Letter Before Action (LBA). In some cases this will be enough to prompt the customer to contact us and arrange a payment plan. If this is not the case we will proceed to do a pre-legal report. This includes our checking the customer on social media to see what we can establish and a credit check. From this, we will be able to assess whether the customer would be affected by a CCJ and whether we believe legal action is the best way forward.
A solicitor will not complete this pre-legal report for you. This is included in the £30 for the LBA and can save you wasting time and money on cases that are not likely to respond to the action. It is also useful that we will have worked the account from the outset and know the process and can see exactly what has happened on the account; probably having had communication with the customer as well.

POC's

Particulars of Claim (POCs): £25.00 plus the court cost.
This is where we enter the details of the claim on the online court system and submit it to the court. The court fees will differ case by case depending on the cost of the balance owed. Court fees are as follows:
Balance of under £300 = £35.00
Between £300-£500 = £50.00
Between £500 - £1000 = £70.00
Between £1000 - £1500 = £80.00
Between £1500 - £3000 = £115.00
Between £3000 - £5000 = £205.00
Between £5000 - £10000 = £455.00
Our fees will then differ on a case by case basis depending on what action is next required. At the POC stage, the customer will have a chance to admit the debt or defend the debt. If a case is defended we will try to settle it with the customer in the first instance, but if we are unable to then we will need to write a response to the court followed by a witness statement. Therefore the costs will differ depending on which route the customer takes.
All collections are still subject to our commission.
